Steve has had a long and varied career in the creative and production end of direct response advertising. His copywriting career began in the publishing industry at New American Library where he was responsible for promoting works by Stephen King, Erica Jong and Ken Follet to the publishing trade and to consumers. From there, he served as Promotion Manager for Whitney Communications on such trade and special interest titles as Architectural Digest, Interior Design, The Sporting News and Boating Industry. He landed his next position in the agency business, at legendary Ogilvy & Mather Direct. There he cut his teeth on direct mail acquisition and retention for American Express and Sears as well as business-to-business direct communications for the then fledgling Nexis/Lexis subscription services.

After Ogilvy & Mather Direct, Steve joined the fledgling New York office of what is now DraftWorldwide. As Associate Creative Director of the New York office, he created award-winning TV, print, mail and radio work for nearly every client on the agency's roster, including: Home Box Office, Verizon Wireless, The US Navy, American Express, Fidelity Investments, AT&T, Resorts International, Time Warner Cable, Sony, Times Mirror Publications, Electrolux and US Tobacco.

As a member of the Directors Guild of America, he also directed many of the commercials he wrote for his client working with such talents as impresario Merv Griffin and Broadway star LeRoy Reams.

Steve also has extensive experience in creating and writing long form direct response TV, having written infomercials for MTV's The Goods series, Nick At Nite, Penzoil, Enesco, Inc. and Scienza Hair Care.

Industry awards include numerous Caples, Echos, International Summit Awards, Davey, Clio and CTAMs. He has conducted DRTV seminars for the Direct Marketing Association and has been a judge and consultant for The School of Visual Arts. Most recently, he was invited to judge for creative awards for the Richmond Ad Club in Virginia.

Steve lives in Ardsley, NY with his wife Cheryl and their Wheaten Terrier, Sparky. Steve, who plays a mean guitar and piano has two sons who are also accomplished musicians.
